Learning to Cook Sweet Mandarin Style/

After the adrenaline filled outing last time round, the Solutions Team decided to harness their inner Zen through a Chinese cookery class. Arriving at Sweet Mandarin in the Northern Quarter for our Dim Sum Masterclass, optimism was high that some culinary delights could be created.
So on went the aprons and into the kitchen they ventured. Chef Lisa gave a demonstration for each Dim Sum before the team got to show their skills. Mat Skitt, normally a maestro at the microwave, was in all new territory whilst Bryan Sayle took great interest in where he could source the ingredients for some home cooking. Stephen Taylor showed his credentials for becoming the Masterchef of Great Fridays whilst the rest of the team proved more than capable. Having said that, Alex McLeod managed to make some of his spring rolls look like sausage rolls but we won’t hold that against him.
Everyone rallied together to help each other with Jannine Craggs and Lisa Knox-Brown showing the lads how pleating Won Tons should be done. There were plenty of laughs and it was great for the team to learn new skills to add to their repertoire. Six dishes were created, including Siu Mai and Beijing dumplings, all consumed in a feast at the end and any left overs were taken back for the rest of the Great Fridays office to enjoy.
